Happy National Hobby Month??

Ok, maybe you’re thinking what does January being National Hobby Month have to do with health and wellness.  In the right situation, quite a bit actually.

Has anyone noticed that so far 2021 feels a lot like 2020? Wasn’t everything supposed to change?

We still need to social distance, and many of us work from home and rarely see other humans in person.

Yes, the promise of the vaccine brings hope and a light at the end of this tunnel, but many people are still feeling very lonely.

If this sounds like you, we encourage you for this new year to try a new hobby. Maybe something that interests you or something you have always wanted to do.

Taking up a hobby which can fill up your time with something constructive, positive, and can possibly make a difference for others. Some of the benefits of having a new hobby include relieving stress, developing new skills, or even making some new connections.

How about learning a new language so you can be ready to travel somewhere new when this pandemic eases up. Or try making the most with that powerful camera on your new phone with some photography courses. Or learn to play a new instrument. The possibilities are endless.

Maybe even something you can turn into a side hustle for some cash! People who have picked up crafting or jewelry making or a similar creative hobby have sold products on Etsy or Instagram and made quite a bit of money. So not only could you be switching your focus to something positive and constructive, but it could alleviate any stress caused by financial troubles.

So take time to think about trying something new. Be creative, do some research and ask friends what they like doing, or ask them what you would be good at or enjoy. Then dive in!

If you would like someone to talk ideas over, or you are really mired in loneliness and can’t get yourself to try something new, we are always here at Tranquility Holistic Health & Wellness.
